Ofsted Report

The Office for Standards in Education, Childrens Services and Skills (Ofsted) regulates and inspects to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people, and in education and skills for learners of all ages. It regulates and inspects childcare and children's social care, and inspects schools, colleges, initial teacher training, work-based learning and skills training, adult and community learning, and education and training in prisons and other secure establishments.

Gainsborough Nursery School was inspected in October 2009, September 2012 and July 2017 and received an Outstanding grading. An extract from the 2009 report is as follows:

The overwhelming majority of parents who responded to the questionnaire hold very positive views about the nursery. As one parent said and many others endorsed:

"I am very happy with the school, my child has developed and learnt a lot."

Many feel felt that the school is a caring, well-led place in which their children are happy. Several praised the school for the support it gives to the children and some praised the daily feedback from the key worker. Hardly any parents had anything negative to say about the school.
