Early Years Educators

Grade 3, points 6-9 £20,812 - £21,986 (Pro Rata -Approx. £12,516- £15,816 per annum).

Gainsborough Nursery School is an outstanding local authority maintained nursery school and our numbers on roll are growing.  We need some new staff to meet the demand for places.

We are looking for EArly Years Educators to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team.

Position 1 - 8.15am-1pm - 4.75 hours a day/23.75 hours a week (G3 6-9 Approx £12,516 per year)

Position 2 – 8.15am – 2.45pm, - 6 hours a day/ 30 hours a week including a 30 minute break (G3 6-9 Approx £15,816)

The positions are for Monday to Friday, during term time plus attendance at training days. There may be overtime available on a week by week basis pending the needs of the school.

You must have an NVQ level 2 or 3 in childcare or a similar qualification

The position is to support the class team in both the 2-year-old room and the 3 and 4 year old rooms and you will have responsibility for a key group of children.

You will work under the direction of our excellent teachers and early years practitioners who will support you. However, the ability to work on your own initiative is essential as you will be expected to use it to support children’s learning and development on a daily basis through small group sessions and during continuous provision. It is desirable that applicants will have good working knowledge of child development as well as previous experience of planning and assessing with reference to the EYFS curriculum.

You must have a passion for helping with children’s learning and a love of spending time following in the playful pursuits of 2, 3- and 4-year olds!  You must be patient, kind and a great listener of children.  Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are essential qualities.  

The post also requires good literacy skills and excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with other team members, parents and other professionals from time to time. 

You must have good ICT skills as we record children’s learning on an online system, though you will be supported to do this.
