Governors
On July 7th 2025, Boston Nursery School and Kingsdown Nursery School officially joined Gainsborough Nursery School and Wyndham Park Nursery School forming the Lincolnshire Maintained Nursery School Federation.
We share one Governing Board and information about our board can be found here LMNSF - Governors
The Governing Body of the Lincolnshire Maintained Nursery School Federation (LMNSF) meets each term. At meetings an agenda is followed which involves feedback about how the schools are progressing against the School Development Plan targets.
Governors also hear and question reports on how the school is supporting specific groups of pupils. It is also the role of governors to oversee the financial management of the school and the safeguarding of all pupils. If you wish to read the minutes, please contact the Clerk to Governors via the nursery school.

Welcome from the Co-Chairs of Governors
Firstly, a warm welcome to Gainsborough Nursery School of which we are honoured to be the elected Co-Chairs of Governors. As part of the Lincolnshire Maintained Nursery School Federation, our values are focussed on children’s learning where all are motivated and nurtured to achieve in a supporting and family dedicated environment. Each of our Nursery Schools are individually unique and part of a collaborative family. We strive for excellent environments where every child can be their very best. We work alongside all staff to ensure that Gainsborough Nursery School offers the best possible start for your children.
The role of the Governors at Lincolnshire Maintained Nursery School Federation is to strategically lead all of our schools to ensure financial stability, review the performance of pupils and staff and evaluate the progress that the school makes towards its aims and objectives which are laid out in the School Improvement Plan. Alongside this, the Governors act as a “critical friend” in which we aim to be a source of challenge, and support, to our Executive Head Teacher and Head of School.
We, as part of the Governing body, work with Laura Cook, Laura Crawford and all the staff to ensure the school continues to flourish and excel in the education it provides for your children.
We aim to ensure the Governors are approachable for parents and look forward to working with you all.
In the meantime, we look forward to both meeting and hearing from you on your educational journey with us.
Dr Rachael Sharpe and Jason Leeks
