Administration Assistant (part time) - Permanent

17 hours per week from 1st September 2024. Term Time only plus attendance at training days.

The person appointed must work Tuesdays and Fridays 8.00am – 3.30pm

(The additional 3 hours can be flexible but must be on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday to allow time to liaise with our Administrator).  There may also be occasional overtime

Salary Grade 3, Point 6-9 - £22,737-£23,893 (Pro-rata approx £8,964-£9,420)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic school Admin Assistant preferably with some relevant office experience and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 

The applicant will be well organised and flexible with good computer skills.  The ability to communicate effectively and warmly with staff, children, Governors, parents/carers, visitors and members of the public is essential.

After School Club Coordinator

Grade 4, Points 9-12 (Approx £8,304 per annum)

After School Club Coordinator - 2.30pm -5.30pm -3 hours a day/ 15 hours a week (G4 9-12 Approx (£8,304)

Gainsborough Nursery School is a local authority-maintained nursery school and our numbers on roll are growing.  A key part of our offer to families is our After School Club.

As Afterschool Club Coordinator you will be responsible for organising and running our afterschool club with the support of our Deputy Headteacher and childcare assistants.

Our afterschool club is attended by children who attend our nursery school and are aged between 2 and 4 years old.

As the After School Club Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and enjoyable after-school experience for our nursery school children. This position requires an individual who is organised, kind and playful, ensuring that the after-school hours meet our children’s needs and the session is full of positive interactions.

Responsibilities:

Plan and organise age-appropriate activities for children aged 2 to 4 years.

Create a safe and welcoming environment for children attending the after-school club.

Supervise and engage with children during their time in afterschool club and co-ordinate the other members of staff

Foster positive relationships with parents

Maintain a tidy and organised after-school space, ensuring the safety of all children.

Qualifications:

You must have an NVQ level 3 in childcare or a similar qualification

Previous experience working with young children in a nursery school or similar setting is preferred.

Be kind and nurturing, with the ability to create a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Understanding of child development for children aged 2 to 4 years.

Excellent communication skills, both with children and parents.

Childcare Assistant

Gainsborough Nursery School is an Local Authority Maintained Nursery School and we are looking for a  childcare assistant to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team.

The position is for 32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 3.15pm, during term time plus attendance at training days. 

You must have an NVQ level 2 or 3 in childcare or a similar qualification

The position is to support the class team in both the 2-year-old room and the 3 and 4 year old room and you will have responsibility for a key group of children.

You will work under the direction of our excellent teachers and alongside our Early Years Practitioners  who will support you. However, the ability to work on your own initiative is essential as you will be expected to use it to support children’s learning and development on a daily basis through small group sessions and during continuous provision. It is desirable that applicants will have good working knowledge of child development as well as previous experience of planning and assessing with reference to the EYFS curriculum.

You must have a passion for helping with children’s learning and a love of spending time following in the playful pursuits of 2, 3- and 4-year olds!  You must be patient, kind and a great listener of children.  Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are essential qualities.  

The post also requires good literacy skills and excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with other team members, parents and other professionals from time to time. 

We can negotiate the start date to suit you but we would like this to be as soon as possible due to our growing numbers.
